Kariza's Charisma
Kariza’s Hawaii Collection is energetically fueled with vibrant colors and tropical prints. She also designs resort dresses and matching cover-ups with sophisticated style. The key word defining Kariza’s collection is versatility. She has designed 1000 prints that fit all ages and sizes, but what makes Kariza truly unique from other designers is the ability to wear one item in 100 different ways. A Brazilian native, Kariza uses her homeland as an inspiration in design of every piece of wearable art. The bases of creating multipurpose clothing were the efforts to generate financial growth to a lot of low income families in the local Indian communities, maintaining Eco-friendly and sustainable principles.
Melissa Mezzalira played a major role in the success for Kariza's event. Melissa is a Certified International Image and Etiquette Consultant, and the founder of Confident Impressions. Recently, I have gained an internship under Melissa as her assistant. She is responsible for choosing the beautiful Baoli as the location for Kariza's fashion show. Kariza was kind enough to offer me to model her swimsuits during the event. If you need help in finding the right color and style to fit your body type, then email Melissa at melissa@italianstylemakeover.com and don't forget to check out Italian Style Makeover for further information. Baoli is a whimsical, scenic escape from chaotic South Beach and the perfect location for Kariza’s fashion show. A backdrop displaying a representative photo of a beautiful woman modeling a Kariza swimsuit was set up inside Baoli next to a clothing rack and an information table. Guests were able to make purchases during the event and even received $25 off any item. A pamphlet was provided to show guests step-by-step directions for different ways to wear the outfits. Log on to her website by clicking, Kariza, and purchase a complete instructional DVD.
Kariza presents her positive and festive energy throughout the event. Her charismatic personality is revealed through her collection. Preparation for a fashion show is a technical process, to ensure every piece is precisely in place, but Kariza and her crew maintained a lively attitude and created a pleasurable atmosphere. It was clear that Kariza was enjoying herself by taking photos with her models and mingling with guests.
It was obvious that the fashion show was not only a business event, but Kariza’s passion exerted in her craft as a designer. Visit the Kariza store in South Beach located at 1630 Jefferson Avenue. Keep up with Kariza updates and don’t miss her next fashion show by subscribing to the Kariza facebook page.

A Sleepless Success!
Miami is one of three cities that hold the annual Nuit Blanche in the U.S.
There are 16 Nuit Blanche event locations throughout the world, but Miami, New York and Minneapolis are the only cities in the U.S. that launch the event. A Sleepless Night is Miami's version of the international Nuit Blanche. Miami celebrates it's diverse culture, love of the arts and a variety of talent for one night of sleepless chaos.
Mayor of Miami Beach, Matti Herrera Bower states, "Sleepless Night demonstrates how powerful and beneficial our partnerships with the artistic, corporate and philanthropic communities can truly be. By working collaboratively and bringing together a broad range of sectors and hundreds of talented artists, we can enrich lives."
A Sleepless Night spread throughout Miami Beach in four zones: 71st, Collins Ave, Bustelo Zone 3 on Lincoln Road and Washington Ave.
After 30 minutes of searching for parking, my first stop was Lincoln Road.
I was wide awake,
thanks to Cafe Bustelo sponsorship and promotional espresso giveaway.

Zone 3 Sponsor, Cafe Bustello,
supplied guests with iced coffee promotional samples for their new product.
The U.S. Premiere of Livio Tragtenberg's "The Cabinet of Dr. Strange" was held in the cage below on Lincoln Road from 6 pm-12 am.
This was the weirdest performance I saw the entire evening.
The Cabinet of Dr. Strange presented an interactive installation/performance with a growing audience.
The side of the cage read, "Please feed the composer with images and sounds. The composer is an extinct animal."
Inside the cage, Dr. Strange holds out his microphone through the barred cage to audience members who are free to express sounds in any way (sing, scream, laugh) a young man even rapped into the microphone.
My favorite event of the evening: John Lennon Educational Tour Bus!
Located outside The Betsy was John Lennon Educational Tour Bus.
Displayed below are photos I took inside the bus. As you can see, the bus is a sound recording studio.

A SLEEPLESS NIGHT RETURNS!
Production expenses for an event often times exceed the planned budget. I speculate that many event
Operators forecast going over budget, but anticipate the possibility by enforcing a strategy to minimize costs. Unfortunately, the lack of city funding and the need for sponsorship donations prevents events from happening.
The last Sleepless Night event was in 2009. Miami city refuses to fund the event, due to its high budget, which causes extreme problems when searching for sponsorship donations.
Thankfully, The Knights Foundation has come to the rescue in efforts to fund Sleepless Nights. The Knights Foundation works to raise cultural awareness.
A Sleepless Night launches Saturday night, November 5 and flows onto November 6. The event will contain local and global art exhibits. There will be comedic performances, poetry readings, music and dance. Theatrical performances can be listened in both English and Spanish.
Rebecca Sterling, FIU student and creator of
A Sleepless Night! facebook event page says, “This will be an epic event and I'd like to gather a fun crew to go crazy with. Also, if you weren't planning on being in Miami on this particular weekend, you should definitely make your plans include Sleepless night."
So far, there are 37 of guests who have RSVP through this particular event page, but over 100,000 guests are expected to attend.

T-SWIFT IS COMING TO THE CITY!
Taylor Swift's SPEAK NOW 2011 Tour is coming soon to Miami.
Fans, I suggest you buy tickets ASAP!
Taylor Swift is scheduled to perform at the American Airlines Arena in Miami Beach
on Sunday, November 13.

Facebook Application: Bands In Town created an event page for the concert, but only four users have chosen to publisize their RSVP.
If you listen to country as much as I do, then you are aware that tickets are available to win through calling KISS Country Station. Check out the website: http://wkis.com/
I'm checking Living Social and Groupon daily to see if tickets will be available for purchase, but chances are unlikely because this concert is going to be huge!
WHERE IS MY FREE CHAMPAGNE???
The promotional offer instituted on facebook supplied ladies free champagne until midnight…this was not upheld when I spoke with the incredibly rude bartender. I was told I needed a drink ticket, so I met with a promoter and received one drink ticket.
When I presented the ticket at the bar, I was turned down again. The drink ticket offered a two for one glass of champagne. This was unsettling. The bartender ripped the drink ticket in two pieces and handed over my glass of champagne, which was 1/3 full of a strawberry mix that I did not ask for or enjoy drinking.
The bartender assured me that he would “take care” of me when I was ready for my second glass, but that was an epic fail too. I called attention to him when I was ready for my refill and he presented me with a check. This was not a joke. I’ll never go to this bar again. Obvious neglect to consumers did not go unnoticed and I left after I finished my second glass.
